ARIST-LATHE PEELING LINE WITH SUPER BACK-UP SYSTEM [SBAL-4]

The model SBAL-4 is a unique design in that it allows peeling small diameter logs down to a core diameter of 32mm (1-1/4"). From beginning to end the veneer coming off the lathe is of the highest quality. Standard equipment is a high speed charger assuring improved productivity of a small log peeling line.

HYBRID ROTARY LATHE [HB-NAL series]

The MEINAN Hybrid Rotary Lathe is designed to allow the selection of different veneer grades from a single block during the peeling process. The operator can choose between two block drive modes:

• The peripheral drive mode: Blocks are driven on the circumference by a series of spiked disks, commonly known as "GANGI".
  
  
• The spindle drive mode: The "GANGI" are retracted and the spindles drive the block.

FEATURES:

These two drive modes allow the production of clear face veneer as well as core veneer from the same block. The change over from one mode to the other is accomplished by actuating a selector switch.

Standard equipment of the Hybrid Lathe is Meinan's unique Nose Bar Fine Adjustment Mechanism. Occasionally, lower quality logs have an interlocking grain structure that, during the peeling process can cause the grain to raise and occasionally cause wood slivers to wedge between knife and the nose bar. The Nose Bar Fine Adjustment prevents this and also reduces lathe checks on the backside of veneer sheets. Lathe checks could later on appear on the veneer surface as fine hair cracks.

In summery, by being able to convert logs that are difficult to peel on conventional lathes into high quality veneer, plywood mill can improve its recovery and reduce log costs significantly.
